📋 Information We Collect
KaamNepal collects minimal information to provide and improve our job matching services:
- Email Addresses — Only when users voluntarily subscribe to job alerts
- Usage Data — Anonymous analytics to improve our service (pages visited, search queries, job views)
- IP Addresses — For rate limiting and security purposes only. Not sold or shared.
- Job Applications — Most jobs we list are applied for on the employer's own website, and we do not see those applications. If you create a CV profile and apply to a job through KaamNepal, we store that application so the employer can review it (see "CV Profiles & Applying Through KaamNepal" below).
- CV Profile (optional) — Only if you sign in and create one: your name, email, CV file, and the profile details you save (see below).
- Location Data — Only if you choose to use "Find Jobs Near Me" or "Mark Yourself Safe". See below for details.
📍 Location Data
KaamNepal only requests your device's location for two specific, optional features — never in the background, and never at any other time:
Find Jobs Near Me
- Used to match you to the nearest district and show relevant local job counts.
- Your coordinates are processed entirely on your own device and are never sent to KaamNepal's servers — nothing is stored or transmitted.
Mark Yourself Safe
Lets users confirm their safety during a disaster (e.g. flood or landslide) and share their approximate location with family or those searching for them.
- Location data is used solely to display your check-in on the safety page and is not sold, shared with advertisers, or used for any other purpose.
- You can request deletion of a check-in at any time by emailing [email protected].
For both features, your device will show its own permission prompt, and declining it still lets you use every other part of the site/app normally.
📄 CV Profiles & Applying Through KaamNepal
You can optionally sign in to keep a CV profile and apply to jobs with one tap. There is no password: we email you a single-use sign-in link that expires after a short time.
What we store
- Your name and email address.
- Your CV file (PDF or DOCX, up to 5 MB). It is checked for hidden programs and scanned for viruses, then kept in private storage. It is never placed on a public web address.
- Profile details taken from your CV or typed by you: headline, place you live, years of experience, highest education, skills and languages. Suggestions from your CV are not saved until you press Save.
- Your phone number, only if you enter one. It stays private unless you choose to share it with an employer when you apply.
- Your applications, the messages you exchange with employers, and a short activity log used for security (for example sign-ins, downloads and deletions).
We do not extract or store ID, passport or date-of-birth details from your CV. We do not ask for them, and we suggest you leave them off your CV.
Who can see what
- Employers you apply to see your name, your note, a summary of your profile, and your CV if you chose to attach it. They see your phone number only if you chose to share it. Your email address is not shown to employers; they contact you through messages on KaamNepal, and we email you a notification.
- Employer search (when enabled, and only if you allow it) shows employers an anonymous card: your headline, general location, years of experience, education, skills, languages, whether you are open to work abroad, and how recently you were active. It never shows your name, email, phone or CV. An employer can send you an invitation; nothing about you is shared further unless you accept it, which sends them your application.
- Nobody else can download your CV. Employers can open it only through an application you made.
Automated checks
Matching jobs to your profile, the "how well do I fit" hint, the drafted application note and the scam warnings on messages all run on our own servers using fixed rules. Your CV text is not sent to any outside AI service.
Messages
Messages between you and an employer are stored so both sides can read the conversation. We check them automatically for common scam patterns (for example requests for payment or to move to another platform). You can report or block an employer at any time.
Keeping and deleting your data
- You can download a copy of your data or delete your profile yourself from the Privacy section of your profile page. Deleting removes your profile, CV files and messages, and replaces your details on past applications with "Deleted user".
- If you do not sign in for 17 months, we email you a warning and delete the profile 30 days later unless you sign back in.
A CV from our previous website
Our previous website let job seekers attach a CV. We keep those files privately (they are not public) and do not show them to anyone. If you sign in with the same email address, we offer to move your old CV into your new private profile and then delete the old copy. You can also ask us to delete an old CV by emailing [email protected].
Clicking "Apply" on a job from another website
When you click Apply on a job that is hosted on another site, you may be asked for your email address. If you give it, we send one email that confirms your job-alert subscription and lets you open a profile. You can ignore it; no profile is created unless you open the link.
🎯 Match my CV
If you use Match my CV, the CV you upload or paste is read in memory on our server to find your job title, place and skills and to match live jobs. It is not saved, not sent to any other company, and is gone as soon as your results appear. If you then ask for email alerts, we keep your email address and the job title and place you choose, as for any other alert.

- Sign-in Cookie — If you sign in to your CV profile, a secure cookie keeps you signed in on this device until you sign out or it expires. It is used for nothing else.
- Session Cookies — Temporary cookies for secure admin access
- Banner Dismissal — Remembers if you closed our subscription banner (expires after 30 days)
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect some site functionality.
🔄 Data Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We share data only in the following circumstances:
- Google Analytics — Anonymous traffic analysis. Opt out via Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on
- Google AdSense — Serves relevant advertisements (see above)
- Employers — Only what is described under "CV Profiles & Applying Through KaamNepal", and only when you apply or accept an invitation
- Hosting and email delivery — Our server host (DigitalOcean), our network and security provider (Cloudflare) and our email sender (Amazon SES) process data on our behalf to run the service. They do not use it for their own purposes.
- Legal Requirements — If required by law or to protect our rights
🔐 Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including:
- HTTPS encryption for all data transmission
- Secure password hashing for admin accounts
- Regular security updates and monitoring
- Rate limiting to prevent abuse
- CV files checked for hidden programs and virus-scanned, stored in private storage and never served from a public address
- Passwordless sign-in links that are single-use, expire quickly and are stored only in hashed form
No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
👤 Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding your data:
- Unsubscribe — Click the "unsubscribe" link in any alert email
- Access — Request a copy of data we hold about you
- Deletion — Request removal of your email from our database. If you have a CV profile, you can delete it yourself at any time from your profile page.
- Download your data — If you have a CV profile, you can download a copy from your profile page.
- Opt-out of Cookies — Adjust browser settings or use Google's Ad Settings

👶 Children's Privacy
KaamNepal does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at [email protected].
📧 Email Communications
If you subscribe to job alerts, you will receive emails from [email protected] when new matching jobs are posted. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of each email.
If you have a CV profile, we also email you sign-in links, and notifications about your applications and messages. These are service emails and are separate from job alerts.
We do not send spam or share your email with third parties for marketing purposes.
