Role Overview

We're looking for a Senior QA Engineer with strong technical expertise, an ownership mindset, and the ability to lead quality across a fast-growing product organization. You will go beyond executing test cases- building scalable automation, improving QA processes, and taking ownership of product quality across web, API, and mobile applications. You will also mentor the QA team and drive a strong culture of quality and accountability at Veel.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead manual and automated testing across web, API, mobile, backend, and AI/ML systems.
• Build, maintain, and optimize scalable automation frameworks and test suites.
• Own end-to-end testing strategy, including functional, regression, integration, exploratory, and release testing.
• Drive QA processes, standards, metrics, and continuous improvements.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD and champion QA best practices.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Design to identify risks and resolve quality issues.
• Lead root-cause analysis and ensure defects are resolved effectively.
• Mentor QA engineers, review their work, and help improve the team's technical capabilities.
• Own release quality and provide data-driven recommendations on product readiness.
• Continuously evaluate tools and approaches to improve test coverage and engineering velocity.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on QA/testing experience, preferably in a product-based or SaaS company.
• Strong experience in both manual and automation testing.
• Hands-on experience with web, API, and/or mobile automation using tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or Appium.
• Strong understanding of API testing, CI/CD, version control, and software development lifecycle.
• Experience with Jira and test management tools such as TestRail, Xray, or Zephyr.
• Programming/scripting experience in JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Java, or equivalent.
• Experience leading or mentoring QA engineers and driving QA initiatives.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Highly motivated, curious, and driven by ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
